Media Notes

In Philadelphia, Damichael Cole reported Temple Athletics and its multimedia partner, Learfield IMG College's Temple Sports Properties, "extended its contract" with WPEN-FM and WPHT-AM by four years. The radio stations "will continue to broadcast Temple football and men's basketball games." Temple football games have been broadcast on WPEN the last six seasons, while WPHT has been Temple's basketball partner for 19 years (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 5/21).

TUG OF WAR: In N.Y., Andrew Marchand cited sources as saying that Fox Sports is "high on Jon Vilma as a game analyst" after previously signing both Adam Amin and Emmanuel Acho from ESPN. However, ESPN "wants to keep Vilma, where he has been a college football studio analyst on ABC's top show" (N.Y. POST, 5/21).

DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT? GOLFWEEK's Eamon Lynch noted a spokesperson for Greg Norman confirmed that he was "approached by Turner Sports about joining the broadcast team for 'The Match II,'" featuring Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. The spokesperson said, "He was very interested. Next thing he heard was that Justin Thomas had been chosen for the role" (GOLFWEEK.com, 5/20).
