Franchise Notes

ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky reported the Packers have $385M in their reserve fund, and the team "might have to dip into it" depending on the status of the '20 season. The Packers long ago established the savings account "specifically to ensure the team could cover expenses for one year in case both leaguewide and local revenue dried up." The reserve fund has "dropped since last summer, when the team reported it at $397 million during its annual shareholders meeting in July" (ESPN.com, 5/14).

NO PLANS TO RELOCATE: NHL Kings President Luc Robitaille expressed "confidence of playing a full 82-game schedule" for '20-21 and "said there remains 'full intention' for the Kings to play all of their 2020-21 home games at Staples Center." Kings and AEG Sports COO Kelly Cheeseman said, "There's been no discussion, in particular around playing the '20-21 season, about playing in another market. We would plan to play completely in Los Angeles next year" (L.A. TIMES, 5/15).

MORE REFUND POLICIES: The NHL Jets in a letter to ticket holders acknowledged that the remaining four home games of '19-20 "will not be played in front of fans and therefore fans were eligible to credit their accounts to use for future games or get refunds" (WINNIPEG SUN, 5/15). Meanwhile, the Lightning gave season-ticket holders the option to "put the money from this season's paused games toward 2020-21 season tickets." That option comes with a 10% "'loyalty bonus' that can be applied to their account" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/14).
