Media Notes

In Boston, Peter Abraham noted popular baseball website MLB Trade Rumors is "down by more than" 40% from its normal average of 1 million page views a day, and its ad revenue "has dropped" by 50%. The same is "generally true" for Baseball Reference, which during the season "generates 1.5 million page views daily." While the drop in advertising for Baseball Reference "hit hard," site Owner Sean Forman is "making payroll" (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/26).

GOOD SHOW: SI.com’s Albert Breer wrote ESPN deserves a “lot of credit” for their telecast of the NFL Draft, as it was “outstanding all the way around.” ESPN VP/Production Seth Markman said of the joint ESPN-NFL Network broadcast, “Just a fantastic team effort. Went better than any of us expected. I think we have to figure out how to incorporate so many of the successes in future drafts” (SI.com, 4/27).

LEGENDS OF THE FALDO: CBS’ Nick Faldo is starring in two new shows that debuted last night on CBSSN, and while all episodes “were filmed before the COVID-19 global pandemic took hold,” Faldo did record some “voice-overs for the shows while sheltered at his home" in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. He said, “The goal was to show people the world that I see and have some fun out of it. Hopefully it’s some good harmless entertainment” (GOLFWEEK.com, 4/27).
