Shaq Defends Endorsement Deals After Barkley's Recent Criticism

Shaquille O'Neal defended his numerous endorsement deals and stressed the fact that he actually uses the products he pitches during an appearance on TBS' "Conan" last night. Host Conan O'Brien mentioned that Charles Barkley recently on the show took some lighthearted shots at O’Neal’s extensive endorsement portfolio. O’Brien said O'Neal's "Inside the NBA" colleague “started talking some shit about you (and) he said, 'I don't believe Shaq uses IcyHot. I don't think he eats at Papa John's. I don't think he's insured by The General.'” But O’Neal righted the record, saying, “The General was my first car insurance when I was at LSU. I do use IcyHot. I don't use it now, because I'm not in any aches and pains. I know IcyHot works. ... And I do eat at Papa John's." O'Neal has turned down offers from Wheaties because he does not eat them, and O’Brien asked, “Are there cereals that you would do an ad for if they came to you?” O’Neal: “Frosted Flakes is the No. 1 choice, and I’ll do it for free. So Mr. Frosted and Mr. Flakes, if you ever want me, let me know” (“Conan,” TBS, 4/22).
