Cris Collinsworth will not leave the “SNF” booth for many more years despite the net's reported hiring of Saints QB Drew Brees when he retires, according to sources. There was some speculation that NBC’s pursuit of Brees could result in changes to the “SNF” booth, where Collinsworth, a 16-time Emmy winner, has been the lead analyst since '09. However, by all accounts, Collinsworth will stay put. NBC Sports Group President Pete Bevacqua would not address Brees' status, but the exec was effusive in his praise for Collinsworth. Bevacqua: “We see him as a mainstay of our 'Sunday Night Football' booth for the foreseeable future. Cris is at the top of his game. We think the world of him, and we see him in such a critical role in our 'Sunday Night Football’ booth and plans.”
