Top WNBA prospect Sabrina Ionescu has named Nike, Under Armour and Puma as the three companies she could sign a shoe deal with, and she said that there could be “news on the endorsement front in the next two weeks,” according to John Canzano of the Portland OREGONIAN. Ionescu, named national player of the year after her senior year at Oregon, yesterday appeared on Canzano’s KXTG-AM radio show to discuss her options. She said she has a “good relationship” with Under Armour endorser Stephen Curry and has been “hearing what he has to offer and the opportunity I could take that way.” Additionally, she noted she has had a “relationship with Phil Knight and being a Nike athlete for the last 10 years of my basketball career is also appealing.” Ionescu: “I’m just trying to weigh out all my options and seeing what the best opportunity for me will be” (Portland OREGONIAN, 4/7).
