Esports Group NRG Expands Deal With Manufacturer Turtle Beach

Gaming organization NRG has signed an expanded endemic sponsorship deal with gaming equipment company Turtle Beach, which now will provide gear to more of NRG's teams. Turtle Beach and NRG first collaborated around the Call of Duty League Chicago Huntsmen in a deal announced earlier this year. The sides now have added the rest of NRG's esports teams and content creators. NRG also has teams in Apex Legends, Fortnite, Rocket League and Overwatch League. Financial framework was not disclosed, but Turtle Beach is providing value in kind with its Roccat brand gaming and audio devices, which include keyboard, mice and headphones. NRG co-CEO Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez helped land the deal; he has had a longtime personal services agreement with Turtle Beach. The sides also will produce a digital content series involving NRG's players. Rodriguez: "This is a matter of culture more than anything, utilizing the best equipment that we can get our hands on. ... From a communication standpoint, it helps to have the best audio equipment when you're in competition." Turtle Beach said this is now one of its biggest sponsorships, but it also has esports team and streamer deals with Astralis, the Overwatch League Houston Outlaws and streaming personality Dr Disrespect.
