Rutgers AD Pat Hobbs Adjusting To New Coronavirus Normal

Rutgers AD Pat Hobbs, discussing how he and his department have adjusted to the new normal and uncertain future brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, said that "he and and the other 13 Big Ten ADs have a daily call" that starts at 8:45am ET and "typically runs an hour," according to James Kratch of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. Hobbs then "convenes a call with his COVID-19 working group, discussing everything from facilities to compliance matters to student-athlete healthcare" with his exec staff, Head Trainer David Borchardt and Assistant Team Physician Dr. Jason Womack. RWJ Barnabas Senior VP & Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joshua Bershad has "also participated." There also are "regular conference calls between Hobbs and all Rutgers head coaches to discuss current issues and future planning -- even if no one is certain what the latter will bring." Hobbs said, “We’ve all become very familiar with WebEx (a videoconferencing platform), and it’s been incredibly helpful. You can get a lot done and people are being very productive right now" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 3/28).
