MLB Finished With Red Sox Probe, Waiting To Release Findings

MLB has completed its investigation into whether the Red Sox stole signs during their ’18 World Series-winning season, but MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said there has been a “delay in terms of producing a written report.” During an appearance yesterday on ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” Manfred admitted he has “not had time to turn to it with the other issues” involving the postponement of the start of the ’20 season. However, he said, “We will get a Boston report out before we resume play” (“SportsCenter,” ESPN, 3/25). In Massachusetts, Chris Cotillo notes multiple members of the Red Sox have "expressed varying levels of confidence that the investigation will exonerate the organization.” The team “could be fined or lose draft picks" if any "wrongdoing was found to have taken place” (Springfield REPUBLICAN, 3/26).
