The Carrier Dome renovation will "continue to move forward" while work across New York state is "broken into two categories -- essential or non-essential," according to Chris Carlson of the Syracuse POST-STANDARD. The types of workers listed as essential by Gov. Andrew Cuomo include "construction, including skilled trades such as electricians and plumbers," as well as "other related construction forms and professionals for essential infrastructure or for emergency repair and safety purposes." The Carrier Dome's air-inflated roof was "deflated for the final time last Monday," while the "new tension-membrane roof, along with a new video board, lights and a sound system are scheduled to be in place by Sept. 19, when the Syracuse football team is scheduled to host Colgate." Syracuse VP & Chief Facilities Officer Pete Sala frequently has "discussed the complexity of the project and indicated the timeframe for completion is a tight one, meaning any delays caused by the virus could be problematic" (Syracuse POST-STANDARD, 3/24).
