Suns GM James Jones said that Talking Stick Resort Arena renovations and construction of the team's new practice facility "will remain on schedule despite the NBA suspending its season," according to Duane Rankin of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. Suns officials last Thursday "confirmed both projects are still on schedule for completion as the arena was scheduled for fumigation last week." The $230M project is "scheduled to have 65% of the upgrades done" going into next season. Suns officials said that operational employees continue to work there, which "enables construction workers to enter the arena and proceed to renovate it." Meanwhile, Suns season-ticket renewals "have been pushed back to April 24" from an original final date of April 1 (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 3/21).
ONLY TIME WILL TELL: On Long Island, Andrew Gross noted the coronavirus outbreak "could certainly affect the construction plans of the Islanders' new arena at Belmont Park." But Islanders President of Hockey Operations & GM Lou Lamoriello expressed confidence in the current timetable, saying, "I have all indications that the Belmont Park Arena is on schedule and will be ready for the 2021-22 season" (NEWSDAY, 3/22).
