NWSL Makes Multiyear Deal With CBS Sports, Twitch Official

The NWSL formally reached three-year media rights agreements with CBS Sports and Twitch that includes the first time a "major U.S. broadcast network will present live coverage on a national level for women’s professional soccer in the U.S.," according to Julia Poe of PRO SOCCER USA. The two deals, which go into effect this season, "will provide coverage of 87 of the total 108 games of the season" on various CBS platforms. The CBS broadcast network will air the OL Reign-Washington Spirit season opener on April 18, as well as the title game on Nov. 14. Additionally, both semifinal games and 12 regular-season matches will be on CBS Sports Network and 71 additional games "streamed on CBS All Access." The NWSL also will have "live coverage of all 108 games around the globe on Twitch" (PROSOCCERUSA.com, 3/11).
