Bruins, Knicks Postpone 50th Anniversary Events For Title Teams

The Bruins have postponed a planned ceremony to honor the '70 Stanley Cup champions later this month "until next season" out of concern for coronavirus, according to the BOSTON GLOBE. The ceremony was scheduled to be held prior to the Red Wings-Bruins game on March 24. It now "will be held next fall" (BOSTON GLOBE, 3/12). Meanwhile, in N.Y., Marc Berman cites sources as saying that the Knicks also are "postponing" the celebration of the '69-70 championship team due to coronavirus. Team officials have "not ruled out rescheduling" the event, which had been set for March 21 (N.Y. POST, 3/12).
