Audience Analysis: Duke-UNC Lower For ESPN; FS1 Up At Daytona

Duke's 98-96 OT win over North Carolina on Saturday night averaged 2.67 million viewers, down sharply from 4.34 million for last year's first matchup on a Wednesday night. However, this year's game is up from 2.43 million viewers two years ago. Last year's game featured a battle of the No. 1 and No. 3-ranked teams, while North Carolina entered this year's game under .500. Additionally, this year's matchup lacked some of the star power present last year, as Zion Williamson led a group of five lottery picks in the '19 NBA Draft that played in the rivalry game.

HEATING UP: FS1 averaged 2.46 million viewers for the Busch Clash at Daytona on Sunday, marking the exhibition race’s best figure since ’16, when it was the Sprint Unlimited on Fox (4.84 million). It also marks FS1’s best audience since the end of the college football season. This year’s race is up 7% from last year (2.29 million).
