XFL Seattle Dragons Hoping For 30,000 Fans At Home Opener

The XFL Seattle Dragons have sold more than 25,000 tickets to their home opener against the Tampa Bay Vipers on Saturday, and team President Ryan Gustafson "hopes the crowd at CenturyLink Field will reach 30,000," according to Scott Hanson of the SEATTLE TIMES. Gustafson said the "demand has really gone through the roof" since the team's season-opener last weekend, a 31-19 loss to the DC Defenders. Gustafson said the team put 1,000 additional seats on sale Monday for $24 each and "sold out in 20 minutes." Hanson notes the Dragons "will continue to add available seats if the demand warrants it." Meanwhile, Gustafson "confirmed reports that Seattle leads the XFL in season-ticket sales, but said he has not been authorized by the league to report the number" (SEATTLE TIMES, 2/12).
