Sportradar Becomes Official Sports Data Provider for the XFL

Sportradar has signed on as an XFL official sports data provider. The XFL joins sports leagues such as the NBA, the NFL, the NHL, MLB and NASCAR in working with the company.

Sportradar will distribute its play-by-play, in-game statistics feed to XFL media partners, including broadcasters and online fantasy sports platforms. “There is a big appetite amongst the media industry for the XFL’s official data. We’re looking forward to delivering this coveted content to our media partners and, ultimately, the fans,” said Steve Byrd, head of global strategic partnerships at Sportradar, in a press release.

STATE OF THE INDUSTRY: Don’t Miss the World’s Premier Sports Tech Event (March 26–27 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn)

The league has already signed a daily fantasy sports deal with FanDuel as well as authorized sports gambling deals with DraftKings and Fox Bet. Additionally, networks that will air XFL games this season—including ABC, ESPN, and FOX—are set to integrate betting data and gambling talking points in their broadcasts. The league also recently announced an audio betting rights deal with VSiN and iHeartRadio.

The XFL previously signed a stats and data partnership with Champion Data in November. That deal will also see Champion deliver stats to the XFL’s digital platforms, as well as to coaches and media.
