Nationals Bring Back "Natitude" Campaign For Upcoming Season

Natitude "arrived with a bang and faded with a whimper," and now the Nationals' "indelible marketing campaign of yesteryear, at times beloved and reviled, has returned with a doink," according to Scott Allen of the WASHINGTON POST. It has been "eight years" since the Natitude hashtag was "first sprung on an unsuspecting world." The hashtag mostly "vanished from the team's promotional materials" by the end of the '14 season and was "replaced by One Pursuit" in '16. But Nationals Senior VP/Marketing, Broadcasting & Game Presentation Jacqueline Coleman said that the slogan "lived on in the hearts and minds of fans." Coleman: "Natitude never went away. People that are attached to the team always used it." During the Nationals' World Series run last October, Natitude "experienced a renaissance of sorts, as searches for the slogan spiked on Google Trends and longtime fans tweeted it with pride." Coleman said that she and her team knew that bringing Natitude back as an official part of the team's messaging for '20 was "the right thing to do" after its World Series triumph last year (WASHINGTON POST, 2/8).
