Stones Coming To BofA Stadium As Tepper Shows Concert Commitment

Bank of America Stadium will host the Rolling Stones on July 1, marking the "fourth major concert announcement involving the stadium since September," and continuing a philosophical change under Panthers Owner David Tepper, according to Theoden Janes of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. Other acts set to play the venue in the coming months are Billy Joel (April 18), Garth Brooks (May 2) and the Stadium Tour headlined by Def Leppard and Motley Crue (July 11). Only two concerts were held at Bank of America Stadium under Jerry Richardson's ownership of the Panthers -- a Kenny Chesney-Tim McGraw show in '12 and the Rolling Stones in '97 (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/6). ROLLING STONE's Andy Greene notes the Charlotte stop is part of a "15-city run of North American stadiums" for the band (ROLLINGSTONE.com, 2/6).
