Brazil’s National Basketball League Partners With WSC Sports

Brazil’s National Basketball League has signed a partnership with WSC Sports to use the company’s AI platform to produce highlights for NBB CAIXA, the country’s top men’s basketball championship. Highlights will be shared across NBB CAIXA’s YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter channels.

WSC Sports’ platform will analyze live broadcasts to automatically create short-form video content in real time. The platform can generate personalized highlights for specific players and edit clips without human intervention.

STATE OF THE INDUSTRY: Don’t Miss the World’s Premier Sports Tech Event (March 26–27 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn)

“The partnership with WSC Sports comes in a very crucial and strategic moment, while we celebrate the season with 100% live coverage of the games,” NBB CAIXA Communications director Guilherme Buso said in a press release. “It also allows us to increase our capacity of video content production on our own digital platforms and the possibility of distributing NBB CAIXA highlights to the teams and media partners.”

In addition to player-specific highlights, WSC allows the NBB to publish recap videos of a game’s final minutes, team comparison videos, and 10-minute condensed game videos to post to YouTube. Brazil’s National Basketball recently signed a deal with Twitch to stream 10 regular season games this year.

The NBB’s deal with Israel-based WSC Sports is the first time the company has partnered with a Brazilian sports organization. WSC Sports’ automated video production platform is also used by sports entities such as the NBA, FIBA, MLS, Cricket Australia, Discovery, and Bleacher Report.
