Former Nike Oregon Project track coach ALBERTO SALAZAR, already banned from the sport for doping violations, on Friday was "temporarily suspended by the U.S. Center for SafeSport pending an investigation of allegations of misconduct." The "exact nature of the allegations couldn't be determined." In the wake of Salazar's doping suspension, several women who ran for the Oregon Project said that coaches "pressured them to lose weight, sometimes with harmful health consequences, and publicly shamed them about it" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 2/2).

CAUGHT RED-HANDED: Two former White Sox ticket sellers have been "charged in federal court in Chicago with a scheme to sell thousands of fraudulently created game tickets through a fence" on StubHub, "costing the club at least" $1M. JAMES COSTELLO and WILLIAM O'NEIL are alleged to have "used identification codes belonging to other White Sox employees to generate complimentary and discount game tickets in exchange for cash payments" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 2/1).

NAMES: The Sharks Foundation awarded a $200,000 community grant -- its largest ever -- to the San Jose Public Library to "fund a new play space for kids 5 and under" (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 2/2)....Former MLBer ADRIAN BELTRE will be inducted into the Texas Sports HOF in Waco on March 28 (Texas Sports HOF)....Pro Football HOFer TERRY BRADSHAW is "partnering with Silver Screen Bottling Company to create his own bourbon whiskey" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 1/31).
