Hendrick Getting Creative Replacing Nationwide Sponsor On No. 88 Car

Hendrick Motorsports has put together a unique new sponsorship program for its No. 88 car to replace the loss of Nationwide, with several Chevrolet Accessory partners joining to form a new vendor model. The deal revolves around a new site launching in February called ChevyGoods.com, which will sell accessories for Chevrolet vehicles. As part of the deal, both ChevyGoods.com and a handful of brands selling goods on the site will get branding on the No. 88 throughout the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series season, and they will rotate who gets placement on the hood of the car. Participating brands include consumer electronics company NOCO, Truck Hero and Adam's Polishes. The 11th-hour deal caps a six-month sprint by the team to find a way to replace Nationwide, which ended its major sponsorship with the team following '19. Meanwhile, Valvoline, a pre-existing HMS partner, will sponsor the No. 88 for Daytona Speedweeks including the Daytona 500. All four of HMS' cars are now sold out for the upcoming NASCAR Cup season.
