Wade's Busy Retirement Schedule Includes New Turner NBA Show

Wade's deal with Turner goes beyond a studio slot and includes appearances at the Final FourGETTY IMAGES

Dwyane Wade has a "full workload" in retirement, including a role with Turner Sports on the new "NBA on TNT Tuesday Night" studio show that debuts next week, according to Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY. Wade will appear on the show alongside Candace Parker, Shaquille O'Neal and host Adam Lefkoe. Wade said, "I don't know how good I will be or how terrible I will be. ... But I'm excited to go on TV and talk about the game and even bring a perspective that I don't even know that I have yet and just have fun." Zillgitt notes Wade's deal with Turner "goes beyond a studio slot and includes appearances" at the Final Four, projects for Bleacher Report and an "agreement with WarnerMedia for additional projects with Wade's 59th and Prairie Entertainment production company." Wade: "That was important to me in this deal. I didn't want it to just be that I'm on TNT on Tuesdays. I want it to be something bigger." Zillgitt notes Wade, who already knew Parker and O'Neal, is "getting to know" Lefkoe, and he "likes the early chemistry." He also "didn't want the Tuesday night show to replicate" TNT's popular "Inside the NBA." Wade: "What I really want to do is make sure this show feels (like) a new show that people socially can resonate with" (USA TODAY, 1/22).
