Oakland Working On New Terms For RingCentral Naming Rights

The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority has voted to rescind its current naming-rights contract with RingCentral, but agency officials said that they "expect to negotiate a new contract with the same company," according to Anna Bauman of the S.F. CHRONICLE. The original three-year contract for $1M annually with a fourth-year option was rescinded after former Authority Exec Dir Scott McKibben was "charged with violating state conflict-of-interest laws" regarding the agreement. RingCentral's name went on the venue in June, and Authority Chair Larry Reid said that the agency's interim Exec Dir Henry Gardner is "working on a new contract" with the company. Reid expects Gardner to bring the new deal before the committee next month. The A's are the venue's lone full-time tenant with the Raiders' impending move to Las Vegas (S.F. CHRONICLE, 1/18).
