ESPN.com's Adam Schefter reported Dan Orlovsky has "confirmed receiving calls from NFL teams to gauge his interest in leaving" ESPN for an offensive coaching job. Sources said that Orlovsky has been "contacted by multiple teams this year" -- one year after the Packers reached out to him about joining their offensive staff. Orlovsky said that it "would have to be a perfect mix of circumstances to get him to even consider leaving ESPN" (ESPN.com, 1/19).

ONE DOOR CLOSES, ANOTHER OPENS: In N.Y., Bob Raissman reported CBS Sports Radio Network's Scotty Ferrall "is out" after seven years. Sources said that Entercom, which owns CBS Radio, "tried lowballing Ferrall on a new contract." Raissman noted Ferrall "refused to take a pay cut and walked." He then "signed with SportsGrid, a sports betting network," and his show's debut is Jan. 29 (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 1/19).

EXPANDING HIS GAME: In San Jose, Gary Peterson notes Warriors G Stephen Curry, while he recovers from a broken hand, "took a turn as a sideline reporter" during Saturday's game against the Magic. Curry "multi-tasked during his stint in the third quarter at the Chase Center, kibitzing with broadcasters Bob Fitzgerald and Kelenna Azubuike, and reacting to what was happening on the court." When the game was over, Curry "sought an interview" from Warriors rookie F Eric Paschall. Curry told him, "You're a great basketball player and an even better interview" (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 1/20).
