Bears Shift Training Camp From Bourbonnais To Halas Hall

The Bears did not provide details about how limited attendance will be at Halas HallBEARS

The Bears will "move their entire training camp to Halas Hall in Lake Forest starting this summer," a decision that "comes on the heels" of a major expansion project to the facility, according to Colleen Kane of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. The Bears, who held training camp at Olivet Nazarene Univ. in Bourbonnais, Ill., the past 18 years, "did not provide details about how limited attendance will be" at Halas Hall. In '19, the Bears had eight practices open to the public in Bourbonnais and one at Soldier Field. The Bears in '13 signed an agreement to extend training camp at Olivet Nazarene through '22, but it was noted at the time of the announcement that the agreement was a series of one-year, rollover contracts that "would give the Bears an out if so desired." Before Bourbonnais, the Bears spent 17 years at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Platteville. Twenty two NFL teams in '19 "stayed home for training camp" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/15).
