The Redskins promoted Dir of College Scouting KYLE SMITH to VP/Player Personnel. A source said that Smith will be the "highest-ranking member of the personnel department and work closely" with new coach RON RIVERA in evaluating college and professional players. Smith, 35, is "considered a rising star in the NFL personnel world" (WASHINGTON POST, 1/14). The promotion helps the Redskins in "combining the pro personnel side with the college side" (NBCSPORTSWASHINGTON.com, 1/13).

ON CAMPUS: Learfield IMG College Exec VP/Multimedia RAY DEWEESE, an SBJ "Forty Under 40" honoree in '15, has left the company. DeWeese is planning to consult for the near future before determining his next move. Meanwhile, Senior VP/Campus+ & NCAA SOLLY FULP has replaced DeWeese and now has oversight of the East region (Michael Smith, SBJ College).

EXECS: CFP Exec Dir BILL HANCOCK said that he has "received a contract extension." The CFP Board of Managers "unanimously approved the new contract at their annual meeting" yesterday. Hancock's current three-year deal expires in June. The "exact terms of the new contract were not released" (ESPN.com, 1/13)....There has been a "subtle change atop the structure of Canada Basketball," as MKTG Canada President & CEO BRIAN COOPER was named BOD co-Chair. Cooper joins Mowbray Wright Financial Senior Advisor ROB WRIGHT in the position while former President & CEO WAYNE PARRISH remains a Dir and member of the Canada Basketball Exec Committee (TORONTO STAR, 1/10).... Fanatics promoted GINA SPRENGER to Chief Strategic Retail Officer. In this role, Sprenger will "lead all merchandising, inventory management and field operations for the company’s strategic retail division" (SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL, 1/13 issue)....Charlotte MLS named DUSTIN SWINEHART Dir of Community Engagement (Charlotte MLS).
