Source: No Ongoing Talks In Altitude Sports-Comcast Carriage Impasse

Sources said that Altitude offered to extend the current deal in August, but was rebuffed by ComcastGETTY IMAGES

There are "no ongoing discussions" between Comcast and Altitude Sports as their carriage dispute "extends beyond the four-month mark," according to a source cited by Mike Singer of the DENVER POST. Altitude execs said that they "continue to check with Comcast on a 'bi-weekly' basis about whether their position has changed." Sources said that before the TV contract between Altitude and Comcast expired in late August, Altitude proposed "extending its deal with Comcast for one year under the same terms." The sources added that Comcast "rebuffed the offer," which would have "temporarily avoided the current impasse that's left the majority of local viewers unable to watch Nuggets and Avalanche games." Singer notes that offer, which "also included the presentation of games in 4K, a subscription-based commercial-free feed where Comcast would keep the revenue over the first year," came last August, "amid negotiations that ultimately fell apart." Comcast's most recent proposal "included a reduction in fees between 50-70% of what their prior agreement had been." Altitude was "hoping" to get Comcast to "agree to a one-year deal while negotiating a longer contract" (DENVER POST, 1/9).
