NWSL President Amanda Duffy Leaves Position For Orlando Pride

NWSL President AMANDA DUFFY is officially stepping down from her role after only one year to join the front office of the league's Orlando Pride franchise as Exec VP. Duffy will depart her post at the league on Feb. 15 and will begin with the Pride immediately thereafter. She will head all operations related to the Pride -- both front office and technical -- and will report directly to Orlando City SC CEO ALEX LEITAO (Pride). PRO SOCCER USA's Julia Poe noted Duffy spent three years "working in league administration." During her stint as NWSL President, the league "increased attendance by almost 25%, inked a new sponsorship deal with Budweiser and added an expansion franchise in Louisville" (PROSOCCERUSA.com, 1/6). SOCCER AMERICA's Paul Kennedy looks at some of the "highs and lows" of Duffy's time as NWSL President (SOCCERAMERICA.com, 1/6).
