Monsterful VR and TrinityVR Join Forces to Power VR Training Across Amateur and Pro Baseball

Monsterful VR has signed a deal with TrinityVR to acquire an exclusive licence to its technology. Several MLB clubs are known to already use Trinity’s DiamondFX batting simulation platform, while Monsterful’s RibeeVR has grown a footprint in amateur baseball.

Through acquiring TrinityVR’s DiamondFX system, Monsterful VR can now further scale its reach into professional baseball. In 2017, Monsterful installed a VR batting game for fans at the Detroit Tigers’ Comerica Park. The company's hitting platform is also used by top high school baseball prospects as part of a partnership with the New Balance Future Stars Series.

The idea of virtual reality training for baseball is that hitters can face ultra-realistic simulations of real pitchers they might be scheduled to play in real life, fine tuning their skills and responses with extra reps. Through tracking swing power, bat speed and launch angle, the systems can also track performance improvements.

“I tried this virtual reality thing, and it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It’s unbelievable. The person looks the same—their windup, their ball,” MLB third baseman Todd Frazier told Joe Lemire in July.
