Australian tennis players, led by NICK KYRGIOS, are "supporting victims of Australia's bushfires by donating money for every ace they hit at upcoming tournaments." Kyrgios made the initial pledge of $140 (all figures U.S.) for each ace on Thursday, before ALEX DE MINAUR "replied with his own offer" of $175 per ace. Fellow Aussie JOHN MILLMAN also chipped in, pledging $70 per ace, while SAMANTHA STOSUR matched Kyrgios' offer of $140 (CNN.com, 1/2)....The U.S. Basketball Writers Association of America "will induct a class of five new members" to its HOF at the Final Four in March that includes longtime Providence Journal sports columnist BILL REYNOLDS. The incoming class also includes longtime USBWA Exec Dir JOE MITCH, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's WENDY PARKER and JACK WILKINSON, and the O.C. Register's MARK WHICKER (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 1/3). Meanwhile, the Football Writers Association of America named Stadium's BRETT MCMURPHY the winner of the STEVE ELLIS/FWAA Beat Writer of the Year for his work covering college football (FWAA).
