Grab Some Dip! Sabra Will Make Ad Debut At Super Bowl LIV

Hummus dip brand Sabra is set to make its Super Bowl ad debut next month with a plan to combine fans' "love of dips with their love of cash," according to Erica Chayes Wida of TODAY.com. Sabra's sweepstakes begins today and will "culminate in five $100,000 cash prizes," all of which will be "announced like a lottery during its commercial" on Feb. 2. For the promotion, Sabra will "specially mark seven flavors with its sweepstakes logo and a QR code that allows customers to digitally access game pieces on its website." The "key is to find the winning pieces," but people who play will have "no idea which are the lucky five pieces" until the ad airs (TODAY.com, 1/2). AD AGE's Jeanine Poggi noted the 30-second spot was "created in conjunction with VaynerMedia" (ADAGE.com, 12/23).

TAX TIME: AD AGE's Poggi noted TurboTax will "return to the Super Bowl with the message 'all people are tax people'" in a 45-second spot by Wieden + Kennedy, Portland. The "first commercial in the new campaign" aired during Wednesday's Rose Bowl and Allstate Sugar Bowl, and TurboTax will "run a new spot" during the Super Bowl. This is TurboTax’ seventh consecutive Super Bowl commercial (ADAGE.com, 1/1). Wieden + Kennedy said that it will "debut fresh creative for the game." ADWEEK's Minda Smiley noted last year’s TurboTax spot "starred an unsettling RoboChild who dreamed of growing up and becoming a CPA" (ADWEEK.com, 12/31).
