Nationwide Arena Looks To Increase Wi-Fi Capabilities

The Blue Jackets have partnered with Ohio-based broadband carrier Horizon to "install a fiber network inside Nationwide Arena to 'replace and expand internet bandwidth,'" according to Hayleigh Colombo of COLUMBUS BUSINESS FIRST. The company also is "upgrading the building's phone system." Horizon as part of the agreement "has been named the official communications provider" for the team. The fiber network connection, which is expected to be completed next month, will allow for "increased Wi-Fi reliability and scalable service." Working with Horizon allows Nationwide Arena "to be able to have 24/7 access" to the company's network operations center "in case of an outage" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 12/10).
