CBS Retools Golf Roster For '20, Elevating Pepper While Adding Wie

CBS Sports today unveiled several changes to its golf coverage personnel, including Dottie Pepper being "elevated to lead on-course reporter" and Michelle Wie contributing to "multimedia coverage this season," including The Masters, according to Pete Dougherty of the Albany TIMES UNION. In other changes, Andrew Catalon "will serve as host for select PGA Tour events." Frank Nobilo will "expand his role and serve as an analyst for the full golf season." Trevor Immelman comes on as an analyst and on "cross-platform coverage" of The Masters and PGA Championship. Mark Immelman will "increase his duties, working the majority of the PGA Tour schedule" (Albany TIMES UNION, 12/3). GOLF DIGEST's Joel Beall writes Wie is the "biggest name in the announcement," though her "role is vague." Her "transition to media has been expected, as mounting injuries have sidelined her playing career." During the Solheim Cup in September, Wie was a guest studio analyst for Golf Channel, and she is now "considered a rising star in the broadcasting ranks" (GOLFDIGEST.com, 12/3).
