In L.A., James Williams noted UCLA football's season finale loss to Cal on Saturday drew 38,102 fans, meaning the team finished with an "average attendance of 43,848, the lowest at the Rose Bowl since moving to the venue" in '82. The Rose Bowl has the capacity to hold 80,616 for general admission games. UCLA's "biggest crowd for a home game this season was a reported 52,578 for the Oklahoma game on Sept. 14," for which the school "gave away four free tickets to season-ticket holders in an attempt to bolster the crowd numbers" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 12/1).

BIG GAME APPEAL: In N.Y., Chris Carlson notes Syracuse will "begin selling tickets to its games against Duke and North Carolina" this morning. The "cheapest tickets will initially be priced at $75 but they will be dynamically-priced, meaning the price could change based on demand." Syracuse has "tied or set attendance records every time that Duke has visited the Carrier Dome on a weekend," including last year's record crowd of 35,642 (Syracuse POST-STANDARD, 12/3).

FLYING HIGH: In Ohio, David Jablonski notes nine Dayton men's basketball games have sold out for the '19-20 season, a "new school record, breaking the mark first set" in '69-70 and tying last year. Dayton sold out the first two games of this season, drawing 13,407 fans to games against Indiana State and Charleston Southern. That was the "first time in UD Arena history Dayton sold out two regular-season games in November" (DAYTON DAILY NEWS, 12/3).
