Butler, Missouri, Oklahoma and Stanford Will Have Access to ShotTracker Basketball Stats at Hall of Fame Classic

For the second consecutive year, NCAA men’s basketball teams competing at the Hall of Fame Classic will have access to ShotTracker’s basketball analytics platform. The tournament will be held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City on Nov. 25 and 26.

Last year’s Hall of Fame Classic was the first time that the NCAA permitted Division I basketball teams to use ShotTracker on the bench during games. This year’s event will feature Butler University, the University of Missouri, the University of Oklahoma, and Stanford University.

ShotTracker will deliver more than 70 real-time statistics to coaches through a tablet on the bench during games. Games will be played using a connected ball and sensors embedded into player jerseys. ESPN will also have access to ShotTracker advanced stats for use in its broadcast of the tournament.

“ShotTracker is ushering in a new era of data and technology in basketball, and we’re excited to continue partnering alongside them to move the game forward,” said NABC executive director Jim Haney in a press release.

According to ShotTracker, 10 different college basketball conferences have applied for waivers from the NCAA seeking permission to use ShotTracker data during regular season games or postseason conference tournaments. So far the only conference to be granted permission is the Mountain West, which signed a five-year deal to use ShotTracker during games starting this season.
