Inside Look At Stephen Curry's Unanimous Media Projects, Vision

Smith said Unanimous Media hopes to inspire people through both serious and lighter projectsTONY FLOREZ

Day 1 of the Endeavor Streaming Sports Media & Technology conference featured a Q&A with Unanimous Media co-Founder Jeron Smith, who runs Stephen Curry’s media company. Smith had stints at Nike and the White House before setting up in the Bay Area for his current position. Smith explained what he learned during his time at Nike, when he led the "Basketball Never Stops" campaign during the '11 NBA lockout. He also told the story of how his relationship with a mutual friend led to his current role with Curry’s faith-based studio, which has a first-look deal with Sony. The company’s documentary work to date has included the '19 film "Emanuel," which explores mass murderer Dylann Roof. The company has also produced the much lighter "Holey Moley" game show on ABC, which Smith called "'American Ninja Warrior' meets extreme miniature golf." Smith said, "We always seek to inspire. And inspiring comes in a myriad of forms and fashions. Sometimes it comes through laughter, like 'Holey Moley,' and sometimes it comes through tears, like 'Emanuel.'" Smith added that he and Curry have a "plethora of projects" in the works for '20, and that he hopes to make announcements on those soon. As for Curry’s level of involvement with Unanimous Media, Smith said that the two-time MVP works hands-on with Smith and the rest of the team.
