NFL Flexes Week 12's Packers-49ers To "Sunday Night Football"

The NFL has "flexed" Packers-49ers on Nov. 24 from the Sundya afternoon national window on Fox to NBC's "SNF," according to Stu Courtney of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. The Packers, with an 8-2 record, are "only a half-game behind the 49ers (8-1) for the top seed in the NFC playoffs." This will be the Packers' "fifth prime-time appearance of the season." Meanwhile, Seahawks-Eagles, which "had been scheduled" for the primetime slot that same day, now has been "bumped back to the afternoon" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 11/13). In Philadelphia, Rob Tornoe wrote thanks to the Eagles' "disappointing 5-4 record and Week 12's stacked" late afternoon lineup, the NFL flexed Seahawks-Eagles out of primetime to a 1:00pm ET game on Fox and replaced it with Packers-49ers, which "could go a long way in determining which NFC team has home-field advantage throughout the playoffs." With Fox already "airing a must-watch" Cowboys-Patriots matchup in the 4:25pm national window, Packers-49ers only would have "reached 15 to 20% of households in the country if it weren't moved into the prime-time spot" (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 11/13).
