Titans, Buccaneers Continue To Struggle With Low Attendance

The Titans on Sunday "obviously noticed all the red in the seats" at Nissan Stadium, so much that Chiefs fans "surely outnumbered Titans fans," according to Gentry Estes of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. Chiefs players were "able to leap and celebrate with their own fans when they scored." But Sunday was "not the first time this season that Titans fans were outnumbered at home." The fact that other teams are "enjoying so much support at Nissan Stadium has become disturbing." The reluctance of fans to "wholly embrace this team is understandable," but around the team, this can be a "touchy subject." Players "don't want to complain publicly about lacking fan support," for fear of "upsetting those in their corner" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 11/12).

FAN MUTINY: In Tampa, John Romano writes attendance is "becoming the elephant in the room" for the Buccaneers. Only 40,038 fans attended the Bucs' win over the Cardinals on Sunday, the "smallest home crowd in 23 years." The Bucs' attendance went up in '15 when QB Jameis Winston was drafted, but by '18 was down 11.7%. League-wide, the drop is only 1.9% over that same period. Romano: "Surely, this has not escaped ownership's attention" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 11/12).
