Brizi’s Fan-Operated Camera Technology Installed in Canadian Tire Center, Home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators

Brizi has added its fan-operated camera technology into the Canadian Tire Center, home of the Ottawa Senators. The partnership between Brizi and the Senators is the company’s first deal with an NHL team.

Fans can access Brizi’s in-venue camera system on their mobile phone via Sens.BellFanCam.ca (mobile-web) or the Senators’ app. The Bell Fan Cam, powered by Brizi and sponsored by telecommunications firm Bell, provides fans with 30 seconds to control a pre-selected Brizi camera installed inside the venue.

One controllable camera will be placed above center ice to let fans capture photos of themselves via a bird-eye view of the arena. Brizi also offers digital overlays that fans can add to their photos before downloading and sharing on social media.

"Fan engagement has long been at the forefront of our priority list. This unique activation provides our fans with the same thrill of being captured on the big screen, all from the convenience of their own phone," Senators' chief revenue officer Mark Bonneau said in a press release.

The Bell Fan Cam debuted Nov. 7 when the Senators hosted the Los Angeles Kings. While Brizi develops the software needed to power its remote-controlled cameras, the company has a partnership with Canon to provide physical cameras placed inside venues. The Portland Trailblazers installed Brizi into its home venue during the 2017 NBA playoffs.
