Outgoing Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank was named as part of the suitGETTY IMAGES

Under Armour shareholder KIRTAN PATEL has "filed a lawsuit alleging executives of the sports apparel brand misled investors by shifting sales between quarters to appear healthier and by failing to disclose a federal accounting probe." The suit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court, names UA Founder, Chair & outgoing CEO KEVIN PLANK as well as President & COO PATRIK FRISK and former CFO LAWRENCE MOLLOY. The suit was filed on behalf of investors who "purchased the company's stock" between Aug. 3, 2016 and Nov. 1, 2019 (BALTIMORE SUN, 11/8).

MOVING ON UP: THE ATHLETIC's Rob Rossi profiled longtime Penguins Dir of Media Relations JENNIFER BULLANO RIDGLEY, who was promoted to VP/Media Relations this summer, and is one of "only a few women in any North American professional sport who is a VP in the communications field, where the job is to directly deal with players, coaches and management." Rangers Senior VP/PR & Player Recruitment JOHN ROSASCO said of Bullano Ridgley, "Building trust is the most important thing, and she does that as well as anybody" (THEATHLETIC.com, 11/7).

HONORS & AWARDS: MLS expansion club Sacramento Republic FC Chair & CEO KEVIN NAGLE will be named the '19 "Sacramentan of the Year" by the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce in January, after he "helped usher" in the club's jump from USL to MLS (SACRAMENTO BEE, 11/7)....The Hampton Roads Sports Media HOF will name longtime local columnists DAVID TEEL and HARRY MINIUM to its '20 class (Hampton Roads DAILY PRESS, 11/8)....U.S. Sens. MARCO RUBIO (R-Fla), ELIZABETH WARREN (D-Mass.), RICK SCOTT (R-Fla.) and ED MARKEY (D-Mass.) introduced a resolution to honor late Pro Football HOFer NICK BUONICONTI. Rubio also has written to PRESIDENT TRUMP "asking that Buoniconti be considered for the Presidential Medal of Freedom" (PALM BEACH POST, 11/8)....Gateway Center Arena, home of the G League College Park Skyhawks, has "named the road outside of the arena Walt Bellamy Way," in honor of late Basketball HOFer WALT BELLAMY (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 11/8).

NAMES: Riot Games co-Founder MARC MERRILL was the "victim of a massive fraud," as a Singaporian man, MATTHEW HO, is "accused of stealing Merrill's identity" and racking up $5M of bills on Amazon. Ho "tricked Amazon into believing he was Merrill" (FORBES.com, 11/7)....Nuggets F PAUL MILLSAP has signed on to be Atlanta-based restaurant This Is It! Southern Kitchen and BBQ's "first ever area developer for metro Atlanta." The first new location for the restaurant is "projected to come as early as next summer" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/6).
