Univ. Of Texas Proposes New Basketball Practice Facility
The Univ. of Texas athletics department is looking to its BOR for "approval to begin working on a 64,000 square foot indoor facility" for its basketball program, according to Alex Briseno of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Pending approval, the basketball practice facility would be located on UT's main campus. This proposal follows UT's announcement in '18 for a $338M multipurpose basketball arena that would debut in '22 and replace the Frank Erwin Center. The $338M arena will "play a similar role" as the Frank Erwin Center, "hosting both Longhorn basketball teams as well as concerts and other various events" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 11/6).
