NBA TV Launches Its Own Subscription Streaming Channel

The NBA and Turner Sports announced that NBA TV, the league’s linear television network, will now have its own subscription streaming channel. The direct-to-consumer channel is accessible via NBA.com and the NBA app.

Fans will be able to stream the channel on their mobile phones, connected devices, gaming consoles, tablets and web browsers. The NBA TV streaming product will cost $6.99 per month or $59.99 annually. It will offer more than 100 live NBA games, extensive studio programming, and on-demand video content of classic NBA games. The NBA TV streaming channel will be available at no charge for fans who have NBA TV as part of their pay TV subscription.

NBA TV also launched its Center Court series, which will stream 20 live games this season while offering experimental viewing features. The broadcast enhancements include new camera angles that showcase footage exclusively on smartphones, live on-screen group chats between viewers and celebrities, integrated analytics and statistical graphics, and social media integration. The current schedule for NBA TV’s Center Court series consists solely of Monday night and Tuesday night games.

Second Spectrum, which has implemented its league-wide player tracking system across all NBA arenas since the 2017-18 season, will power the statistical overlays shown on NBA TV’s Center Court game feed.

According to NBA Digital, NBA TV is the first linear sports league network to launch a direct-to-consumer subscription offering. Streaming games on the new OTT NBA TV channel can be added to the list of ways to watch the NBA this season.
