In Lexington, Janet Patton noted Maker's Mark bourbon, in partnership with the Univ. of Kentucky, is "releasing its most limited bottle ever: The Million Dollar Bottle," although it costs just $10,000. The bottles, of which only 100 were made, have a "silver finish, a Kentucky Blue hand-dipped wax seal and the UK logo in a basketball pattern on the front." To get them, fans will "have to enter a lottery online." The goal is to raise $1M for "academic, athletic and personal development" of student-athletes at the school (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 11/2).

BACK ON THE TEAM: In Richmond, Wayne Epps Jr. notes VCU athletics after a one-year hiatus has "renewed its affiliation with Papa John's." VCU "suspended its contract with the pizza company last year" after Founder John Schnatter's comments. Through the renewed partnership, franchises in Richmond owned by PJ Cheese will "provide Papa John's to VCU athletics events, including men's and women's basketball games." Two Papa John's franchise owners in the area will "endow a yearly scholarship for a VCU student-athlete" (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 11/5).
