Chargers K Michael Badgley “recently trademarked the term ‘Money Badger,’” a play on both his last name and the famed “Honey Badger” nickname of Chiefs S Tyrann Mathieu, according to CBS’ Jim Nantz. CBS’ Tony Romo incredulously asked, “Is it really ‘Money?’” Nantz confirmed it and said, “I think he just got the trademark locked up this week.” Romo: “Kids these days, just a little different” (“Packers-Chargers,” CBS, 11/3). In L.A., Gilbert Manzano notes Badgley, who made his season-debut yesterday, got the “Money Badger” nickname from fans “because of his clutch kicks as a rookie last season.” Badgley’s agency “decided to pounce on that as a business opportunity.” When asked what he plans to do with the trademark, Badgley said, “I have no idea, but why not?” Manzano notes Badgley following the Chargers’ 26-11 win over the Packers “wore a custom Tom Barnett suit that read ‘Money Badger’ inside the jacket and had a picture of a badger on the pocket square” (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 11/4).
