Basketball HOF's Renovations Add State-Of-The-Art New Features

The Basketball HOF is "currently undergoing renovations that will bring a state-of-the-art upgrade to the institution," according to James Sullivan of the BOSTON GLOBE. The main concourse now "features the Hall of Honor, a futuristic new gallery paying tribute" to the nearly 400 inductees. The new addition is "lit up like a spaceship command center" and is "outfitted with digital touch screens that can call up film footage, photographs, and career highlights for any of the inductees." The third level of the facility is "currently under construction," but will "showcase interactive exhibits devoted to some of the game's most iconic moments." Visitors to the HOF will be able to "begin their tour with a 10-minute screening of an introductory film" in a "plush" new theater. A newly "renovated welcome center -- the Tip-Off Pavilion" -- will feature kiosks with "tributes to some of the game's greatest players" (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/30).
