City Football Group Partners With Cisco to Upgrade Network Connectivity in Five Stadiums

City Football Group has announced a multi-year partnership with Cisco, the networking hardware and telecommunications equipment firm. The agreement covers five CFG-owned soccer franchises: Manchester City of the English Premier League, MLS club New York City, Melbourne City FC of Australia’s A-League, J League club Yokohama F Marinos, and Chinese team Sichuan Jiuniu FC.

All five clubs will install Cisco hardware to support the networking connectivity in each team’s venue. City Football Group first embraced Cisco’s technology in 2013 when the company’s networking connectivity system was installed at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium in England

CFG is an organization built on people and we are excited to embrace Cisco’s technologies to better connect our clubs, players and fans across the world,” Damian Willoughby, SVP of partnership at City Football Group, said in a press release.

Cisco provides Wi-FI connectivity to the Norwegian Professional Football League. The technology giant also has a multi-year partnership with the USGA, in which Cisco developed a new livestreaming app for the U.S. Open that contains virtual and augmented reality viewing features.
