High school sports communications platform VNN has partnered with Scorebird’s score tracking system to deliver real-time scoring updates on high school sporting events in Alabama.
The Alabama High School Athletic Association, the governing body for public high school sports in the state, will integrate with Scorebird, which has installed its hardware into stadiums at public high schools in Alabama. The hardware is plugged into stadium scoreboards and will wirelessly transmit scoring updates to VNN’s app in real-time as the scoreboards are updated.
VNN’s communication platform shares schedules, game results, articles, photos, and registration forms. It is meant to be an organizational tool for parents, athletes, coaches, fans, and other stakeholders within high school sports. This new partnership will provide real-time scoring updates for more than 200 Alabama high schools.
VNN and Scorebird’s partnership was announced as the high school football season is getting underway. The AHSAA requires all public schools to report scores from each football game. This process was previously done manually by staff but will now be streamlined by Scorebird. The AHSAA Now mobile app will receive real-time score updates via the tech.
“We saw a great opportunity to be able to streamline the collection of information from each game and improve the experience of Alabama fans,” said Marvin Chou, the assistant director of the Alabama High School Association.
