Mavericks VP/Basketball Communications SARAH MELTON has "announced her retirement." Melton, who has been with the organization for 20 seasons, said that Thursday's game against the Clippers in Vancouver "will be her last road game." Mavericks Basketball Communications Manager SCOTT TOMLIN "will be promoted to Melton's position" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/15)....NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California promoted DEVON FOX to Senior Dir of Live Events & Special Projects and EMILY RAIMONDI to Senior Dir of Marketing & Creative Services (NBC Sports)....Exec search firm Action Management Services "launched a sports division in mid-August" that is being led by company President DALE CHORBA. Since entering sports, Action Management has been "working on 17 to 20 jobs" that range from the XFL to figure skating. Chorba said that the firm is or will be "involved in executive searches" for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, IndyCar, MMA, golf and NCAA D-I sports (CRAIN'S CLEVELAND BUSINESS, 10/14 issue).
