Media Notes

In Denver, Kyle Fredrickson notes Altitude Sports remains "deadlocked in negotiations" with Comcast, DirecTV and Dish, but "at least one blacked-out provider has addressed the financial impact on consumers." Comcast Dir of Media & External Communications Leslie Oliver said the provider will soon reduce the RSN fee, so Avalanche and Nuggets fans "will see an adjustment." The exact price reduction "depends on where the customer lives and the service area" (DENVER POST, 10/11).

STILL GOING STRONG: THE ATHLETIC's Scott Agness noted Basketball HOFer Slick Leonard, 87, is heading into his 35th season as the Pacers' radio analyst on FS Indiana. Leonard's longtime play-by-play man Mark Boyle said, "Typically when you work with another broadcaster, it’s an ex-player or coach and they generally have interesting observations, or not, but Slick is there not because he’s a broadcaster, although he has become one over the years. He’s there mostly because he’s a Pacer and he’s a personality and you never know where he’s going to go" (THEATHLETIC.com, 10/10).

SCREEN PARTNERS: NBC Sports will partner with the Tom Brady and Michael Strahan-backed Religion of Sports media company to produce "Head Strong: Mental Health & Sports." The one-hour documentary, set to debut in November, will be presented across NBC Sports and other NBC local/national platforms. Former NFLer Brandon Marshall will serve as an exec producer (NBC Sports).
