Officials Approve Deal For Music Venue Near Paul Brown Stadium

Hamilton County, Ohio, officials have "reached an agreement with the Bengals and a concrete company that will allow a music venue to be built on the riverfront at The Banks, despite parts of the deal remaining in flux," according to Wartman & Coolidge of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. Three county commissioners unanimously approved an agreement with Hilltop Basic Resources to "purchase half of the 17-acre site riverfront site" where the concrete company operates. This means that a music venue "can be built" near Paul Brown Stadium, and part of what is now Hilltop Basic Concrete will "become a tailgating lot." The music venue is slated to open next fall. The Bengals also "agreed to delay some county-financed stadium enhancements." What is "not clear yet is where Hilltop will ultimately go." The Bengals' lease with the county "gives the team veto rights in the vicinity of the stadium." The team also "agreed to forgo" $30M in payments that the original lease "required the county to make in the final seven years before it expires" in '26 (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 10/9).
